No, and this is the most important answer here. Nothing retired comes back under the same string. Something resembling it is answering under different ownership. Close the tab.

Somebody posted a new address while it was down. Should I use it?

No. That window is when fakes are seeded, precisely because the usual comparison is unavailable and people are anxious. Whatever is down will come back.

Do I have to verify every time?

Yes. The people who get caught are rarely the ones who never learned it. They are the ones who did it for a year, got comfortable, and stopped.

Can I skip Tor Browser and use a gateway?

No. A gateway makes the request on your behalf and therefore reads everything you send including credentials. That is the mechanism, not a question of trust. See the client.

Is my money safe in escrow?

Safer than the alternative, which is not the same as safe. It means the platform cannot move funds alone. It does nothing about a vendor who does not ship, a compromised account, or a balance parked rather than committed.

How much should I fund?

What you intend to spend soon. A parked balance is the most common avoidable loss on a platform that never did anything wrong to you.

Why does this site not show uptime?

Because it does not measure anything, and a figure it cannot back would be worse than no figure. Sites that publish one rarely say what it measures, and the answer is almost always reachability, which a convincing fake also passes.

Is this site safe to trust?

By its own argument, not on faith. Everything here tells you to verify what it publishes, which is a smaller claim than telling you it already verified on your behalf.
